Day 01: Half day Kigali City tour
After your breakfast, our safari guide/driver will meet you at the hotel and take you for a city tour in Kigali to explore the beauty of one of Africa’s cleanest cities. Visit the genocide memorial grounds, the Nyabugogo market, the Moslem quarter in Nyamirambo, a pottery project and the Franco-Rwanda cultural center. You will have lunch in this city and later drive North of Kigali to Volcanoes National Park). Arrive in the evening hours, check-in to your hotel for dinner and an overnight at: Sabyinyo Silverback Lodge (luxury), Gorillas Volcanoes Hotel (midrange) and Kinigi Guest House for budget.
Day 02: Gorilla Trekking – Volcanoes National Park
After an early breakfast, we shall transfer to the park headquarters for registration and briefing for Gorilla tracking. You will gather at the park headquarters with other guests in your tracking gear and packed lunch before heading into the forest to track the gorillas.
The time to spend tracking the gorillas is uncertain though it may take 2 – 8 hours before you meet these great apes. The time taken to track the gorillas depends on their movement and where they spent their night the previous day. When you finally meet the gorillas, you will have to spend an hour watching them play and feed on the vegetation as you take pictures. After this great adventure, you will relax at your lodge or you can take a cultural tour (if time allows) for an opportunity to interact with the friendly local people. Drive back to Kigali for your flight or to the hotel.
End of the trip.
