5 Days Gorilla tracking Mgahinga N.P/ Queen Elizabeth Uganda Safari

At 33.7km2, Mgahinga National Park is Uganda’s smallest National Park. Despite the size it’s another home to Uganda’s rare Mountain Gorillas and it’s an important habitat to the endangered Golden Monkeys. It also has a huge cultural heritage of the Batwa community. Queen Elizabeth, one of Uganda’s popular destination is an ideal habitat for classic big game like Elephants, Hippos, Buffalos, lions and over 600 bird species, This park boasts ten primate species including Chimpanzees as well as crater lakes and Kazinga channel. Trees climbing loins around Ishasha are epic.

DAY 1: ENTEBBE- MGAHINGA NATIONAL PARK. (9-10HRS)
Meet your local Shoebill smiling guide and transfer to the western part of Uganda. Several stop over’s on the way will lead to beautiful scenery; remarkable to look out for are the gentle slopping hills of Ntungamo and the Kigezi meandering terraces. Lunch on the way; proceed to Kisoro arriving in the evening. Possible evening visit to the Batwa community.

DAY 2: GORILLA TRACKING
This is one the memorable highlights of a lifetime of any safari: a meeting with the rare Mountain giants of Nkuringo Gorilla group. Morning transfer to the briefing point of Park offices to ready you for a thrilling activity of a lifetime. Those who love hiking will love Mgahinga National Park even more. Expect to walk a long distance in steep and muddy conditions, sometimes with rain overhead, before you encounter the gorillas. The trekking is worthwhile as you have a close encounter with these forest giants. Enjoy them as they eat, play and rest. Gorillas live in groups/families just like human beings and as you watch them you will realise that they run and interact just as we do in our homes. Even in the jungle the baby gorillas will always be babies as the Silverback constantly reminds them he is fully in charge. For conservation purposes, time spent with the gorillas is limited to one hour. Return to you lodge and relax.

DAY 3: MGAHINGA N.P-QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK (4-5hrs)
Breakfast, possible Golden monkey tracking before we begin the journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Lunch en-route at a local restaurant proceed to Ishasha Jungle Lodge for Dinner and overnight.

DAY 4: QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK
With parked breakfast we transfer from Ishasha sector to Kasenyi area part of the Park. We shall go through Ishasha plains for chances of tree climbing lions. Bush breakfast and continue to Kasenyi Safari Camp. Afternoon boat cruise on the famous Kazinga Channel, evening game driver for more game like Uganda Kobs, lions, elephants, buffaloes and other wild animals in their natural habitat.

DAY 5: QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK – KAMPALA/ENTEBBE.(6-7hrs)
After breakfast begin the journey back to Kampala. Lunch enroute, Stopover at the equator for a memorable photography. Have a chance to stand both at the Southern and Northern hemispheres. Several souvenir shops have variety of handmade crafts making it a great stop for shopping. Proceed arriving in the evening. Departure or Overnight.
